Tech Tip-Modem Speed up:
If possible, make sure outside wiring has no splices, junctions, etc. between
the terminal & the protector at the building. For modems, on single
telephone line systems, run a separate wire from the protector to the modem.
For key systems & PBX's, check with the provider to make sure there are no
unnecessary splices or bridges in the line used for modem communications.
If you still have problems with slow connect rates & high error rates, it's time
to get the local phone service provider to inspect their facilities going back
toward the C.O.
